How To Pick Raspberries

Please pick all the ripe berries! Picking our bushes clean keeps the crop in good condition and provides for a longer season.

A ripe raspberry is a fully red color with a soft but not squishy feel. The berry will still be a little bit firm.

Ripe raspberries should pull free from the plant easily, leaving the white center and stem behind. Raspberries do not ripen after picking.

Check under the leaves and inside the plant canopy! Some of the best fruit likes to hide under the leaves. Be sure to lift leaves up to check for ripe berries.

We sell by the pint. A full pint is filled level or very gently mounded across the top. Don’t overfill the containers; raspberries are fragile and can be easily crushed!

On your way home, keep your raspberries out of the sun and as cool as possible.

When you get your berries home, put them in the fridge right away. Don’t wash them until you are ready to eat them as getting them wet can make them more prone to spoiling.
